Last Saturday saw a welcomed new addition to the Elysian Valley landscape with the Good Eggs LA Foodhub Opening.
Good Eggs is a web & delivery service that offers food from local farmers & food makers. Founded by Rob Spiro & Alon Salant (both transplants from the Bay Area tech world) their goal has been “to grow and sustain local food systems worldwide.” The inaugural L.A. event showcased offerings from over 25 local area vendors including: Buzzed Honeys, SQIRL, Almond Milk LA, Dairy Goddess, Central Coast Creamery, Homeboy Industries Bakeries and Mills + Company Meats. You can take a gander at the full (and likely growing) list of local producers who are affiliated with Good Eggs here.
Housed in a former Hostess Cupcake factory in “Frogtown”, the company offers a wide variety of items such as: meats & seafood, dairy items, snacks, baked goods, flowers & plants, pet food, dried fruits & nuts, pastas, coffees & teas, herbs, vegetables, entrees and even reasonably priced farm boxes…all available for pick-up (at one of 4 pick up spots in the city) or free home delivery! Subscription services as well as gift cards & gift boxes are also available. You can learn all about their straightforward ordering & delivery details on the Good Eggs website. Their blog is a great read too!
Here’s to hoping Good Eggs reaches even more U.S. cities in the very near future!
