Los Angeles-based artist/photographer Aaron Farley debuted a vibrant collection of new work on April 26th as part of the group show “Paper Route” at Galerie102 in Ojai, CA.
Starting from a photographic base of subtle color and light, the serenity of each print is ultimately disrupted by a series of methodical folds or creases. This geometric metamorphosis allows the work to develop unexpected dimensionality. It was particularly striking to see how Farley’s pieces refracted the washes of light pouring thru the windows of Galerie102. Taking his process one step further, there were 2 printed aluminum works featured that feel like a unique photo-sculpture hybrid.
